Mission

The Latinx/Hispanic Faculty and Staff Association (LHFSA) exists to celebrate, bolster and promote the success of Latinx/Hispanic faculty and staff at the University of Kentucky. Latinx persons (those who identify as Latina, Latino, Latine and Latinx) share Latin American heritage, and Hispanic persons share Spanish-speaking origins. Importantly, these identities are diverse in culture, history and language — the LHFSA acknowledges and celebrates this diversity.  The LHFSA supports the success of Latinx/Hispanic faculty and staff by cultivating community, nurturing belongingness and providing opportunities for networking, professional development and advocacy.

LHFSA Co-Leads

Dr. Sheila Barnhart (sheila.barnhart@uky.edu) and Mariela Hernandez (mariela.duartehernandez@uky.edu) serve as the LHFSA co-leads.
